Alzheimer's Support
The Gathering, a program of Berkeley Seniors, Inc., provides a weekly period of respite for caregivers of adult family members living with diagnosed memory loss such as Alzheimer's Disease and other memory impairments. Activities for participants are designed to stimulate memory and creativity and to promote friendships in a safe, well supervised environment.
When caring for a loved one with memory impairment, it's common to feel alone and to think that no one else understands. Participating in a support group can help by giving caregivers a chance to share thoughts and feelings with others who understand. An Alzheimer's Support Group, that everyone is welcome to attend, meets on the second Tuesday of the month. We also offer resource information on legal issues, death and dying, and contact information for a registry of local trained sitters. For more information, please call or send an e-mail addressed to admin@berkeleyseniors.org
